2049285-1524633-thumbnail.jpgA U.S. Citizen and Resident, I live in Germany with my husband, Sven, and although I love the country and the culture, it can be overwhelming and lonely at times. This is why I was so happy to discover Scrapbooking. Searching for a crafty Christmas Present for my in-laws, in 2002, I ran into the scrapbooking aisle at Michael’s. What a perfect gift: turning our vacation into a scrapbook for them to enjoy, since we couldn’t spend the holidays together.

That first scrapbook was terrible. I took no classes, knew no other scrapbookers and had not yet found online sources. I soon wandered into the online world of scrapbooking and I was hooked. I had been lonely and bored, needed a new hobby to keep me occupied and scrapbooking was just the thing. It kept me creatively challenged, and opened the door to a whole new world of crafting.

In 2005, I was a Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame winner, and my work has appeared in Simple Scrapbooks, Scrapbooks Etc., Creating Keepsakes regular magazine and special issues, and Digital Scrapbooking Magazine. I have designed for Tracy Robinson, SEI, and Fibers From Afar. I started digi scrapping in 2006, and I'm now on the Designer Digitals Creative Team where many of my pages feature my children Georgia (2.5 years) and Dean (almost 7 mos).

2049285-1612928-thumbnail.jpgI am a former computer programmer and present interior design student/SAHM to one sweet little boy. I love all things artsy and out of the box -- in particular I love when a piece of art surprises me because it does the unexpected. I've kept photo albums for as long as I can remember, but it wasn't until about 3 years ago that I started scrapbooking seriously. I started with hybrid but now do mostly digital because it saves me time. As for my style -- I love clean lines and graphic papers but can't resist throwing in a swirl here and there. If I had to put a name on it, I would say my style is funky-artsy-graphic...is that a style? :) I've been published in Memory Makers, Scrapbooks Etc, Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbook Trends, Creative Techniques, and various books on scrapbooking. In addition, I am a member of the Designer Digitals Creative Team.

2049285-1594124-thumbnail.jpgI began scrapbooking in junior high... way back in the late ‘60s. (I’m dating myself here!) I didn’t use many photos, but I filled books with memorabilia and personal notes. Thankfully, my scrapbooking style has changed through the years as I’ve simplified and refined my layouts to focus on the stories I have to tell.

My two children, Derek (17) and Shannon (14) are the subjects of most of my layouts and since I work full-time outside the home and the kids are involved in club soccer and school athletics, my scrapbooking time is limited and usually reserved for late at night! I scrap both with paper and digitally… at least late nights on the computer don’t wake anyone up!

I currently design for Scrapsupply.com, Designer Digitals and Idea Books 4U. I’ve had layouts and cards published in numerous scrapbooking magazines and books, including Memory Makers and Scrapbook Trends. And, can you believe I had layouts published in the first issues of Creating Keepsake’s “Idea Book” back in 1998 and 1999?! And, yes… they sure look different from my layouts today!

2049285-1594125-thumbnail.jpgI grew up on the gulf coast in beautiful, sunny Florida just six miles from the ocean.  After college, my dormant gypsy blood surfaced and I began my wanderings; I've lived in Guatemala, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Honduras.  My vagabond ways were tempered when the little guy came along.  Gabriel is my world and life is wonderful with him in it.  We're currently calling Tennessee home where I stay quite busy keeping up with Gabriel's social life, teaching English as a Second Language, and scrapping, of course.

I have always enjoyed photos and the stories they tell.  As a child I had so much fun digging through my mom's collection of old photographs and wondering what the people in them would say if they could talk.  I love that scrapbooking allows me to share our stories with my son, family, friends, and future generations.  I also love that scrapbooking has given me such a wonderful community of friends that are so supportive and share my passion to create.

I would describe my pages as structured freestyle; basically a hodgepodge of fun with a solid foundation.  I currently design for Jenni Bowlin Studio and have been published in Scrapbook Trends, Creating Keepsakes, BHG Scrapbooks Etc., Memory Makers, and Cards.

2049285-1524634-thumbnail.jpgTwenty-nine years ago God blessed me by sending me to the most wonderful group of people - my family. They are my foundation and my heart. They instilled a love of creativity within me from an early age by encouraging me to draw, paint, and write short stories. My box of well-used Crayolas led me to six years of art instruction and dabbling into all kinds of artistic media. It seems I've been creating all my life and, for that matter, so has my family. They are professional photographers, so it's no surprise that I was bit by the shutterbug when my firstborn arrived in 2003. I've since shot over 20,000 photos and am in the process of pursuing the family business. I fell in love with this hobby in 2004 because it combines my three passions: art, photography, and family. Since then I've been named a 2005 Memory Makers Masters top ten runner-up, served on the 2006 FiberMark design team, and been published in Memory Makers Magazine and Books, Scrapbook Trends and Paper Trends, Paper Crafts, Card Maker, Gift Maker, Scrap and Stamp, Just Cards, and Paper Works.

2049285-1524636-thumbnail.jpgI am a lifelong collector of words, photos, and other snippets of life! I started journaling at 9 years old and haven’t stopped! In 2002 I discovered scrapbooking as a place to bring it all together, unknowingly preparing to scrapbook the arrival of my son in 2005! With a toddler in the house I was thrilled to find digital scrapbooking! I’ve been pure digital for about a year and a half, loving the flexibility and clutter “freeness” that it brings! You can see my work this summer in Simple Scrapbooks and Digital Scrapbook Magazine (my first publications!). I am on the creative teams for Designer Digitals and Ideabooks4U. When not scrapbooking or taking pictures I am an employee development trainer.

2049285-1524637-thumbnail.jpgMy name is Paula Gilarde, and I have been scrapbooking for over 5 years - what started as a simple wedding album has turned into a full-blown obsession. I started with paper and discovered digital scrapbooking almost three years ago. I still switch back and forth between the two depending on my mood! I usually scrap 12x12 and my style tends towards clean and simple. I'm happily married and have two children Molly, 5 and Tommy almost 4 who provide me with endless inspiration for my pages. I've been published in Simple Scrapbooks, Creating Keepsakes, BHG Scrapbooks Etc, Memory Makers, Scrapbook Trends and various other scrapbooking idea books. I'm thrilled to have been named a winner of the 2007 Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame.

2049285-1524639-thumbnail.jpgAs far back as I remember, I've enjoyed bringing photos and stories together. What I really enjoy is including little details in my journaling, bits of history, bits of current trends and issues, bits of real life to go along with the story and photos at hand. I also enjoy capturing those things beyond the obvious, those little things that will have my children and me saying, "Oh yeah! I remember that!" in the years down the road. My style is classic and straightforward. I love event layouts. I love two-page layouts, and I love pages that tell a story. Since 2003, I've had pages published in many magazines and received two Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame Honorable Mentions. I currently design for Scrapsupply.com and Technique Tuesday. Also, a big stack of my pages will be featured in the Memory Makers Books' "Get It Scrapped!" (by Debbie Hodge) due out in spring '08.

2049285-1524640-thumbnail.jpgI am a 30-something, caffeine-addicted, chocolate-loving, SAHM from Utah. I have been scrapbooking since 1997, the dreaded era of photos cropped with deco scissors. Since then, my work has evolved into a clean, linear, photo-focused style. I have been published a few times, been to a few trade shows, taught a few classes, worked for a few design teams...but have not yet lost the love for this hobby. I love it for the creative outlet, and the good people I have met along the way.

My favorite subjects are my husband and five kids (I never lack for subject material :)) I especially like making mini-albums of our many trips together. When I'm not scrapping, I am blog-hopping, reading, or editing photo shoots. And doing laundry. Always laundry. I am excited to be a part of this site, and I am looking forward to being inspired by all of you.
